Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, have you ever felt a stirring in your heart, a nudge that there’s something more God has for you? A divine purpose, a calling uniquely crafted for your life? In Ephesians 2:10, we are reminded that we are “God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Today, we’re diving into a powerful truth: God calls each of us to a purpose, and He gives us signs to guide us toward it.

In this sermon, titled “Never Neglect These 3 Signs That Point You to Your Call,” we will explore three undeniable signs that God is calling you to step into His purpose for your life. Let’s open our hearts and listen for His voice.

Point 1: A Persistent Stirring in Your Spirit

The first sign God is calling you is a persistent stirring in your spirit—a deep, unexplainable sense that God is pulling you toward something greater. Think of Moses in Exodus 3:2-4, standing before the burning bush. He felt an inner restlessness, a curiosity, and a draw to God’s presence. That stirring was God calling him to lead His people. You may feel this as a burden for a specific ministry, a passion to serve others, or a conviction to step out in faith.

This stirring often feels like holy discontent—a sense that where you are is not where God wants you to stay. It’s not about dissatisfaction with life but a longing to align with God’s purpose. Ask yourself: Is there a cause, a need, or a mission that keeps tugging at your heart? That’s the Holy Spirit at work, nudging you toward your calling. Don’t ignore it! Pray, seek God, and let Him clarify that stirring.

Point 2: Confirmation Through Scripture and Circumstances

The second sign is confirmation through God’s Word and the circumstances He orchestrates. In Acts 13:2-3, the Holy Spirit spoke to the church in Antioch, confirming Paul and Barnabas’ calling through prayer, fasting, and communal discernment. God still speaks today—through Scripture, godly counsel, and divine alignments.

When God calls you, He often aligns His Word with your life’s events. A verse may leap off the page, speaking directly to your situation. People may affirm your gifts or open doors that align with your passion. For example, you might feel led to teach, and suddenly, opportunities to share God’s Word arise. These are not coincidences but divine confirmations. Stay rooted in Scripture, as 2 Timothy 3:16-17 reminds us that it equips us for every good work. Test every sign against God’s Word to ensure it’s from Him.

Point 3: A Growing Passion to Glorify God

The third sign is a growing passion to glorify God through your gifts and actions. In 1 Peter 4:10, we’re told, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” When God calls you, He ignites a desire to use your unique talents—whether teaching, serving, creating, or leading—to advance His kingdom.

Consider Nehemiah, whose heart broke for Jerusalem’s broken walls (Nehemiah 1:4). His passion to rebuild wasn’t for personal gain but to restore God’s glory. Your calling will always point back to glorifying God. If you find yourself excited to serve, pray, or share Jesus with others, that’s a sign! Your gifts, paired with a heart to honor God, are a powerful indicator of your divine purpose.

Application: How to Respond to These Signs

So, how do we respond when we see these signs? First, pray fervently, as Jesus did in Luke 6:12-13 before choosing His disciples. Ask God for clarity and courage. Second, study Scripture to confirm your calling, letting the Holy Spirit guide you. Third, step out in faith, even if it’s a small step. God doesn’t always reveal the full picture, but He rewards obedience, as we see in Abraham’s journey (Hebrews 11:8). Finally, seek godly counsel from mentors or your church community to affirm what God is showing you.

Conclusion

Beloved, God is calling you to a purpose that reflects His glory and advances His kingdom. The signs are there: a persistent stirring in your spirit, confirmation through Scripture and circumstances, and a growing passion to glorify God. Don’t neglect these signs! Like Samuel in 1 Samuel 3:10, say, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” Step into your calling with faith, knowing that the God who calls you is faithful to equip you (1 Thessalonians 5:24). Let’s pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us to Your purpose. Open our eyes to the signs You’ve placed in our lives. Stir our hearts, confirm Your will through Your Word, and ignite our passion to glorify You. Give us courage to step into our calling. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Go forth, brothers and sisters, and walk boldly in the purpose God has for you! Share this message with others, and let’s encourage one another to embrace God’s call. 🙏✨
