Hagai 2:7-9
7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts.
8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.
9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.
Sermon: The Children of Israel were ordered to build the second temple during the exile, but there were varying number of factors that discouraged them, one of such was that they had no money, the lord reminded them that the silver and Gold belongs to him. God wanted them to give sacrificially out of the little that they had to build the temple because he will multiply them and bless them in return. Hence, he reminded them that silver and Gold belongs to him, this means giving does not reduce us but instead it increases us because the silver and Gold belongs to God, he will surely replenish us whenever we carry out that kind gesture. If we want to see the latter glory manifest in our lives we must be cheerful givers, we should learn to give to God's house, give to the less privilege, give to people around us and far from us, If God made the sacrifice of giving his only begotten son for us then we should give sacrificially for others
