*Quote of the Day*
When we lift up praise in the midst of our battles, it confuses the enemy.
*Did you know ?*
Moab and Ammon were descendants of Lot, Abraham’s nephew, while Mount Seir (Edom) was linked to Esau. These nations had long-standing tensions with Judah, making their alliance against Judah in 2 Chron 20 a rare but doomed collaboration.
*Prayer Topic:* *I set confusion in the camp of the enemy #Day 2*
Sermon:
In the face of overwhelming adversity, when the enemy seems too strong, too numerous, or too cunning, God’s people are never without hope. The story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 teaches us a powerful lesson about trusting God to fight our battles and how He can bring confusion to the camp of the enemy. Today, we’ll explore how faith, obedience, and worship can turn the tide against any adversary, causing confusion in their ranks and securing victory for God’s people.
2 Chron 20:20-24
20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
1.*The battle explained*
In 2 Chronicles 20, Judah faced a formidable alliance of enemies—Moab, Ammon, and others—who had joined forces together to destroy them. King Jehoshaphat, recognizing the impossibility of the situation in human terms, sought the Lord through prayer and fasting. God responded through the prophet Jahaziel, declaring, “The battle is not yours, but God’s” (v. 15). In verse 20, as they set out to face the enemy, Jehoshaphat encourages the people: “Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”
The first key to setting confusion in the enemy’s camp is faith in God and His Word. Jehoshaphat didn’t rely on military strategy or human strength; he anchored his hope in God’s promise. When we face enemies—whether spiritual, emotional, or physical—our starting point must be unwavering trust in God’s power and His promises. The enemy thrives on our fear and doubt, but faith positions us to see God’s intervention.
2. *The Power of Praise* (2 Chronicles 20:21-22)
Verse 21 tells us that Jehoshaphat appointed singers to go before the army, praising God with the words, “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever.” As they began to sing and praise, verse 22 says, “Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.”
Here’s the second key: worship sets the stage for God’s intervention. The people didn’t wait for the victory to praise; they praised God in the face of danger. Their worship wasn’t just a song—it was a declaration of God’s faithfulness and power. When we lift up praise in the midst of our battles, it confuses the enemy. Satan expects us to cower, but worship declares that our God is greater. The moment Judah praised, God moved, setting ambushes that threw the enemy into disarray.
3. *Confusion in the Enemy’s Camp* (2 Chronicles 20:23-24)
Verse 23 describes the remarkable outcome: “For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.” When Judah arrived at the battlefield, verse 24 says they saw only dead bodies—no one had escaped. The enemy turned on itself, and God’s people didn’t even have to lift a sword.
This is the third key: God can cause the enemy to self-destruct. When we trust God and worship Him, He fights in ways we cannot imagine. The enemy’s plans unravel, their unity crumbles, and their strategies fail. This is what happens when God sets confusion in the camp of the enemy. Satan’s forces may seem organized, but they are no match for the God who turns their schemes against them.
As you pray these Prayer points today the lord will said that your enemies will fight each other until they are totally consumed in the name of Jesus
