*40 Days of Mercy #Day 36*

*Apostle Momo Promise*

*Quote of the Day*

Even when situations appear hopeless and human strength has failed, God’s compassion can birth new life, revive dormant dreams, and prove that nothing is too difficult for Him.

*Did you know ?*

One angel single-handedly killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night (2 Kings 19:35). Another struck down 70,000 people during a plague in David's time (1 Chronicles 21).

*Sermon:*

Beloved, welcome to **Day 36** of our transformative journey in the **40 Days of Mercy**! Today we anchor deeply in the heart of God revealed in **Genesis 18:1-15** — the God who visits His people with hospitality, hears their hidden doubts, and extends mercy by fulfilling impossible promises.

“The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground… Then one of them said, ‘I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.’… Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, ‘After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?’… Then the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh and say, “Will I really have a child, now that I am old?” Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.’… Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, ‘I did not laugh.’ But he said, ‘Yes, you did laugh.’” (Genesis 18:1-15, NIV).

What a powerful demonstration of mercy! Abraham showed generous hospitality to the divine visitors (who represented the Lord’s appearance), and in response, God reaffirmed His covenant promise: Sarah would bear a son despite their old age and her barrenness. Sarah overheard and laughed in disbelief — a natural human reaction to what seemed utterly impossible. Yet God did not reject her doubt or withdraw the promise. Instead, He gently confronted it with the question that echoes through the ages: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” His mercy overlooked her momentary unbelief and affirmed that He would return at the appointed time to fulfill what He had spoken.

This is the mercy that visits the weary. This is the mercy that receives hospitality and responds with greater blessing. This is the mercy that transforms skeptical laughter into the joyful laughter of fulfilled promise (as seen later in the naming of Isaac, meaning “laughter”). Even when situations appear hopeless and human strength has failed, God’s compassion can birth new life, revive dormant dreams, and prove that nothing is too difficult for Him. He is not limited by age, barrenness, time, or natural impossibility; He is the God who keeps covenant and turns doubt into testimony for His glory.

Beloved, if you are facing “impossible” situations — delayed promises, barren dreams, aging hopes that seem past their season, or any area where doubt has caused you to laugh inwardly in unbelief — this word is for you. God still visits His people. He still hears the silent laughter of the heart. He is still moved with mercy to fulfill what He has promised. His compassion can override human limitations and release supernatural fruitfulness where there was none.

Open your heart to this truth today: The same God who appeared to Abraham and Sarah is ready to visit you. Welcome Him with open hospitality of faith. Even if doubt creeps in, do not fear — His mercy is greater. Pour out your heart honestly before Him. Let your questions and struggles meet the reassuring declaration: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” His mercy is not hindered by our weakness; it appoints a time for breakthrough and turns every “impossible” into a platform for His power.

This is your season to experience the promise-keeping mercy of God. What looks like the end of hope is the appointed time for divine visitation and fulfillment. Trust in His willingness to visit and to bless. Lean on His power to do the impossible. The God of Abraham and Sarah is rising in mercy over your life right now!

As you pray these points with faith, ask the Lord to release the same visiting mercy and promise-fulfilling power seen in Genesis 18:1-15 into every area of your life. May you encounter the God who appears in your ordinary moments, receives your hospitality of faith, overlooks doubt with compassion, and brings forth what He has promised!
