Deut 20:1
When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
*Sermon:* Israel, a small nation surrounded by great empires, did not have a superior military compared to their enemies. In battle, they usually fought against horses and chariots and people more numerous than Israel. God gave Israel a reason to not be afraid. God did not deny that the enemies of Israel would usually have more horses, chariots, and people than Israel. But God asked them to recognize a greater fact: That the LORD…God was with Israel, according to Romans 8:31 "
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? God allowed it to be so because in these battles the glory of the Lord is revealed, it is in our weaknesses that God reveals his strength
