"By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went."
*Introduction*
Beloved, an open heaven is where God’s blessings flow freely. Abraham, the father of faith, shows us how to unlock this through his journey. In Malachi 3:10 (KJV), God promises to "open you the windows of heaven" for those who trust Him. Let’s explore Abraham’s faith in three steps: Hearing God’s Call, Obeying in Faith, and Trusting God’s Promise.
1. Hearing God’s Call:
Abraham’s faith began by hearing God’s voice. In Genesis 12:1-2 (KJV), God said, "Get thee out of thy country… and I will make of thee a great nation." He believed without details. Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) says, "Without faith it is impossible to please him." Believing God’s promises opens heaven’s windows.
When you pray always listen for God’s voice in prayer and Scripture. Trust His promises for your life.
2. Obeying in Faith:
Abraham obeyed, leaving everything behind (Genesis 12:4, KJV). Hebrews 11:8 says he went, "not knowing whither he went." His obedience invited God’s provision. James 2:17 (KJV) reminds us, "Faith, if it hath not works, is dead." Act on God’s Word—tithe, give, or step out, because obedience unlocks open heavens.
3. Trusting God’s Promise:
Abraham trusted God despite delays. Romans 4:20 (KJV) says, "He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief." Waiting for Isaac, he held fast, and God delivered (Genesis 21:5, KJV). Hebrews 10:23 (KJV) urges, "Hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering." Don’t waver in trials. Keep trusting and praising God for your breakthrough.
Abraham’s faith— hearing, obeying, and trusting—opened heavens of blessing.
