Text: Exodus 3:1-5
“Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush... God called to him from within the bush, ‘Moses! Moses!’ And Moses said, ‘Here I am.’”
*Sermon:* Beloved, as we stand at the threshold of a new week, I want to encourage you to position yourself for a divine encounter—a moment when God steps into your ordinary routine and transforms your life. Remember we are still in the month of open heavens, where God has promised that this will be a month to Remember for good. A divine encounter is not just a fleeting experience; it’s a life-altering moment where God reveals His purpose, power, and presence. This week, God is ready to meet you where you are, just as He met Moses in the wilderness. Let us explore how to prepare for and embrace a divine encounter in this week of open heavens.
1. Be Faithful in the Ordinary:
Moses was doing what he did every day—tending sheep in the wilderness. It was in this mundane task that God chose to reveal Himself. Divine encounters often happen when we least expect them, in the ordinary moments of life. This week, whether you’re at work, home, or school, stay faithful in the small things. God is watching, and He can turn your routine into a sacred moment.
2. Be Attentive to God’s Presence:
When Moses saw the burning bush, he didn’t ignore it—he turned aside to look. A divine encounter requires sensitivity to God’s presence. Sometimes, God speaks through a prompting in your heart, a scripture that stands out, or an unusual event. This week, slow down and pay attention. Don’t rush through life and miss what God is trying to show you.
3. Respond with Humility and Obedience:
When God called Moses by name, he responded, “Here I am.” A divine encounter demands a response. God may call you to step out in faith, forgive someone, or pursue a new direction. Whatever He says, respond with humility and obedience, trusting that His plans are good.
