The Edomites were descendants of Esau (again, Jacob's twin), so they were literally family—but Esau's descendants harbored deep, perpetual hatred toward Israel (Amos 1:11). They refused passage to the Israelites during the Exodus and later rejoiced over Jerusalem's fall. King Herod the Great (who ordered the massacre of infants in Bethlehem) was an Edomite descendant, linking this ancient rivalry all the way to the New Testament.

Beloved, welcome to Day 15 of our transformative 40 Days of Mercy journey! Today, we dive into the **steadfast and unending mercy** of God—His compassions that never fail, renewing themselves every single morning.
No matter how dark the night or heavy the burdens from yesterday, God's mercy doesn't expire—it's replenished afresh at sunrise. His compassion is inexhaustible, His faithfulness unwavering. This truth anchors us: we are not consumed because His love holds us, revives us, and propels us forward. Psalm 103:8 declares, "The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy." Ephesians 2:4 reminds us that God, "who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us," makes us alive in Christ.
